बता दें कि चार से आठ नवंबर तक गोवा में 37वीं कब्बडी नेशनल गेम 2023 का आयोजन किया गया है। जिसमें हिमाचल की टीम ने गोल्ड मेडल हासिल किया है।हिमाचल कब्बडी एसोसिएशन की ओर से 12 खिलाडियों की टीम में मंडी जिलें दो खिलाडी चयनित की गई थी। हरियाणा प्रदेश की टीम को हरा कर हिमाचल की महिला टीम ने नाम रोशन किया है। बता दें कि उपरोक्त प्रतियोगिता में महिला टीम में दोनों ने अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाया है। हिमाचल की महिला टीम में गोहर ही भावना ठाकुर ने आलराडंडर रीडर के रूप में अपनी प्रतिभा का बेहतर प्रदर्शन कर मैच में 23.36 के अंतर से जीत दर्ज की है और हरियाणा की टीम को प्राजित कर गोल्ड मेडल जीता और हिमाचल प्रदेश का नाम रोशन किया है।

गोहर के ग्राम पंचायत बायला के पिपला गलु से तालुक रखने वाली भावना ठाकुर की माता दासी गृहणी है और पिता प्रेम सिंह किसान है। तीन बहनों में छोटी भावना ठाकुर है और एक भाई दुनी चंद है। परिवार की सभी बहनों सहित भाई की शादी हो चुकी है।

स्कूल स्तर से भावना को कब्बडी खेल में दिलचस्पी हो गई और अपने विभिन्न सिनीयर नेशनल में गोल्ड, खेलों इंडिया विवि गोल्ड गोल्ड मेडल, ऐशियन गेम्स के कैंप में भाग लिया और अंडर 21 खेलों इंडिया गोल्ड मेडल जीता है। वर्तनाम में भावना ठाकुर स्पोर्स्टस हास्टल साई धर्मशाला में प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त कर रही है। इससे पहले सिरडा में कब्बडी होस्टल में छह साल तक प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया है।
